Library

We have a large library of DVDs and books. These items can be checked out on the honor system to members for a period of one month at which time the item is to be checked back into the library.

Instant Gallery

The Instant Gallery is held during most meetings. It allows members to share their completed works and ask for critique or help on pending projects. Also, this gives members a chance to collect ideas and techniques for use in their own projects.

Wood Exchange

Occasionally members gain access to downed trees and find they cannot consume all of it. This excess is often made available to others who can make use of it.

Discounts on Purchases

The local Rockler store in Robinson offers a 10% discount on many regular priced items. Some exclusions apply. See their site here.

Craft Supplies provide a 10% discount on orders over $1000 after quantity discounts applied for a club order. This discount is not applicable to already discounted items. See their site here.

Donation Programs

Beads of Courage

We participate in the Beads of Courage program and donate finished boxes to local Pittsburgh hospitals. Click here for a link to the AAW’s page and more information about the program.

Wig stands

We make custom wig stands and donate them to a local wig shop that caters to individuals with cancer.

Pens for Troops

We participate with our partner Woodcraft to make pens that are donated to men and women in service to our country.

AAW

Our club is a chapter of the American Association of Woodturners (AAW). Membership in the AAW is not a requisite of membership in Turners Anonymous but AAW membership has many pluses. Some say the AAW magazine alone is worth their membership fee. Click here to see the benefits offered by the AAW.
